
This course connects with the Equine Studies degree offered by Centenary University. Pathology other important issues in modern veterinary science. Veterinary Science include a visit to a veterinary office to observe a surgery (if possible) as well as visits to the equestrian center and the local animal auction. Our veterinary science summer camp is awesome! Large animal anatomy and physiology will be studied as well as the healing and treatment of wounds, lameness, and dentistry. This includes but not limited to horses, cattle, and other food-producing animals. Then, students will focus on the examination, recognition, treatment and prevention of disease to large animals. Students will focus on anatomy, physiology, safety and welfare as well as other important issues and fundamental concepts. Other small animals, such as birds, reptiles, and small quadruped mammals will be studied as well. Students will focus on common canine and feline diseases as well as familiarizing themselves with signs of disease, therapeutic treatments, and methods of prevention. The program will help build confidence and self-esteem in the high school students, and the three (3) earned college credits provide motivation and encouragement for students to pursue post-secondary education.Participation in the RBS PREP Program will result in several benefits Program alumni are also eligible for admissions application fee waivers and receive priority access to other programs and initiatives facilitated by the RBS Office of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access. High school juniors that complete the RBS PREP program earn three (3) academic course credits toward completing their undergraduate education. Students also participate in program enrichment sessions that include college prep and exploration, mentoring, team building, soft skills development, guest lectures from distinguished RBS faculty, staff, and corporate partners. RBS PREP students are enrolled in a college-level business course with other RBS undergraduate students.
